
Law enforcement officers have established a complete chronology of events on April 18, when a man opened fire on passersby in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv and then broke into a supermarket, where he held those present hostage. The attacker was eliminated during the storming of the store. Police have also formed a detailed portrait of the man's personality.
This was announced today, April 25, by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko.
The man was born in Moscow in 1968, he was a military pensioner. From 1992 to 2005, he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in various positions in the maintenance of automotive equipment. After the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he moved to Kyiv from Bakhmut.
“He was brought to criminal responsibility, but he had two registered carbines and a traumatic pistol. He received the last permit for weapons on the basis of an alleged journalist's certificate issued by one of the public organizations. The circumstances of obtaining the permit documentation for weapons are currently being checked by the SBU,” Kravchenko said.
