Kyiv law enforcement officers reported that they had stopped the activities of a criminal group that had organized a large-scale cocaine supply and distribution channel in Kyiv. Three members of the group and one drug buyer were detained.
This was reported on May 18 by the press service of the Kyiv police and the metropolitan prosecutor's office.
According to investigators, the scheme was organized by a 40-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih, a member of the Kryvyi Rih drug gang “Dvadtsiatovski”. He used a car with a specially equipped storage for the hidden transportation of drugs to the capital. In Kyiv, he was met by a 43-year-old resident of Kyiv region, who was engaged in the sale of “goods”.

The police reported that during the special operation, law enforcement officers stopped a vehicle and searched the places of residence of the suspects. About a kilogram of cocaine, electronic scales, mobile phones and money were seized. The value of the seized drugs at “black” market prices is about 8 million hryvnias.
“In addition, operatives identified a wholesale buyer of cocaine – a 35-year-old resident of the Kyiv region, who subsequently resold the “goods” and one of his clients,” the report says.

The buyer of cocaine was served with a suspicion Part 2 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court has imposed preventive measures on the suspects. According to the prosecutor's office, two suspects are in custody, the third was remanded in custody with the right to bail, and the fourth was placed under night house arrest. The maximum penalty is up to 12 years in prison, the police added.
