The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported suspicions to three residents. According to the case materials, the suspects took possession of an apartment and land plots in the village of Kryukivshchyna, which belong to a family from Kyiv region.

“It was established that a 43-year-old man who works in real estate learned that a resident of the Kyiv region had left abroad, transferring three of her land plots to her parents. Later, he made forged powers of attorney for himself, which allowed him to dispose of both the apartment and the land,” the report says.
According to law enforcement officers, the plots were then sold to fake persons, and as a result, the suspect's uncle became the owner. The plots of land were combined and divided several times in order to change their cadastral numbers. The women also tried to resell the apartment several times to citizens close to the organizer of the scheme. The transactions were conducted by a notary who was an acquaintance of the organizer of the fraud.
The total amount of losses to the family whose property was seized is 3.7 million hryvnias. All property has now been seized, the prosecutor's office reported.
All suspects – the organizer of the “scheme”, his relative and the notary – were informed by law enforcement officers about suspicions of fraud, forgery of documents and legalization of proceeds from crime (parts 4, 5 of article 190, part 2 of article 209, parts 3, 4 of article 358, part 2 of article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the most severe article provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. A petition was also sent to the court for the suspects to be given preventive measures – detention in custody.
It was previously reported that the capital's law enforcement officers have completed and submitted to the court the case materials regarding a 48-year-old resident of Chernihiv region. The man is accused of forging a will to inherit an apartment in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. The cost of the real estate is over two million hryvnias.
