Kyiv law enforcement officers are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the circumstances of the death of a foreigner on the territory of a military unit in Kyiv.
This was reported to the Kyiv police on February 20.
The man died at the end of December 2025.
“It has been previously established that the man was a volunteer and was undergoing military training. After one of the stages of training, he felt sick and died the next day,” the report said.
A pre-trial investigation is underway under Part 1 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As reported by the police, the body of the deceased was sent for a forensic examination to determine the final cause of death.
Earlier, the Kyiv Independent investigation stated that the 28-year-old recruit from Brazil died due to physical punishment, which is allegedly regularly used in the Advanced Company assault company. Former fighters, speaking on condition of anonymity, told journalists that Bruno Gabriel Leal da Silva died on the night of December 28-29, 2025.
