
The Podilskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv has reported a local resident to the police for suspicion. He is accused of a robbery at a currency exchange office in the capital.

It is noted that law enforcement officers reported the suspicion to a 40-year-old man. According to the case materials, the suspect, wearing a mask and hood, entered the currency exchange office. He threatened the cashier with a weapon and ordered her to give up the money.
“At the same time, the cashier managed to press the panic button, so the attacker fled. The man was identified and informed of the suspicion. As it turned out, a few weeks before the robbery, he came to see how the financial institution worked,” the report says.
The suspect was detained on a street in the Holosiivskyi district. During a search of his apartment, a pistol and other evidence were seized, Kyiv police said.
The prosecutor's office informed that the man explained that he wanted to get money to pay off his loan debts. He has now been charged with robbery under martial law (Part 4, Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The article provides for up to fifteen years in prison with confiscation of property. The suspect was given a preventive measure – detention with the right to post bail.
It was previously reported that police in Kyiv detained a man suspected of robberies at currency exchange offices. The events took place in the Darnytskyi district of the city. Law enforcement officers seized a pistol from the suspect, which turned out to be a toy.
Police also detained a 24-year-old man from Kyiv. He is suspected of not paying for goods and threatening a security guard with a weapon. The man has already been tried for theft.
