Investigators have filed a fraud case against an elderly woman. The pensioner gave 362,000 hryvnias for her son's surgery because she was deceived that he had been in a car accident.
The details of the investigation were reported by the Kyiv police on February 12.
It is said that the woman experienced such a story in December last year. An unknown man called her and said that her son had allegedly been in a car accident and needed urgent surgery. The victim transferred 362 thousand UAH to a taxi driver who was ordered by the organizer of the scheme. Then, according to the investigation, the man transferred the money to his electronic wallet.
The police detained the suspect. During the search, they also seized packages of cannabis from the suspect.
