A man was detained in Sviatoshyn, Kyiv, who was allegedly selling drugs

In the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital, police officers found a 26-year-old resident with pre-packaged packages of psychotropic substances on him. He was declared a suspect.

This was reported by the Kyiv police on February 28.

During a search of the man's home, investigators seized a package containing about 100 grams of the psychotropic drug alpha-PVP. The investigation believes that he planned to distribute this substance in the Svyatoshynskyi district through so-called “bookmarks”.

He was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal acquisition, storage and sale of a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance in particularly large quantities. The sanction of the article is up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Other cases of drug trafficking detected in the region

On February 18, Kyiv police detained four Kyiv residents aged 42-52 on suspicion of trafficking cannabis throughout Ukraine. They face up to ten years in prison.

On February 23, law enforcement officials reported the exposure of a group in Kyiv. According to the case materials, its members were trafficking drugs and psychotropic substances in the capital, transferring the substances through taxi services.

On February 26, Kyiv customs said that their service Belgian Shepherd Nora discovered 4 kg of drugs smuggled in a package from Thailand to the Kyiv region.

The day before, the police exposed two men who, according to the investigation, were supplying drugs to Ukraine. The goods were disguised in olive oil bottles.
