A court in Kyiv acquitted a key witness in the case of NABU detective Maghamedrasulov

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv has acquitted Yusuf Mameshev, a key witness in the case against NABU detective Ruslan Maghamedrasulov. The Prosecutor General's Office will appeal the acquittal.

The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported this in a comment to Suspilny.

Yusuf Mameshev's lawyer Volodymyr Okhrimenko confirmed in a comment to Suspilny that the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv acquitted Yusuf Mameshev due to lack of evidence that his actions constituted a criminal offense.

The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office stated that the prosecution intends to appeal the acquittal in the case of Yusuf Mameshev.

The department noted that after receiving the full text of the court decision, prosecutors will analyze its motivational part and prepare an appeal.

The position of the prosecution remains unchanged: the evidence collected within the framework of the criminal proceedings, in the opinion of the prosecutor's office, provided grounds for upholding the charges in court. The final legal assessment of these circumstances must be provided by the appellate court.

Mameshev appeared as one of the key witnesses in the proceedings against NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov. His testimony was previously used by the prosecution as part of the argument in the case.
