Details

Inoculation is performed at 2-4-6-18 months, conditional on the infant not presenting with risk factors. As indicated by the department, this framework will permit the employment of combined vaccines against multiple communicable diseases concurrently (DPT+Hib+HBV). This will curtail the number of injections administered to the child during a solitary visit to the healthcare center.

Neonates should receive hepatitis B vaccines on their initial day of life, irrespective of their birth weight, in several distinct circumstances, most notably if the child’s mother has a confirmed positive or indeterminate hepatitis B state – HBsAg detected or untested during gestation.

Furthermore, vaccination on the initial day is imperative for offspring born to an HIV-positive woman, infants born prematurely or possessing a low birth weight below 2,000 grams, alongside instances of probable exposure to an individual infected with the hepatitis B virus within the familial setting.

Moreover, children whose mothers possess a documented history of diagnosed hepatitis B or C, notwithstanding prior treatment, or exhibiting a positive laboratory diagnostic for antibodies or antigen to viral hepatitis C, are subject to obligatory vaccination. Particular consideration is given to children where a pathology was identified during the prenatal or early postnatal phase, signifying a future surgical procedure or the provision of blood derivatives.

The Ministry of Health also appended: inoculation against hepatitis B is deemed comprehensive if the child has been administered a minimum of 3 vaccinations, excluding the newborn vaccination, while adhering to the stipulated minimal intervals between dosages.

Within Ukraine, commencing January 1, 2026, in accordance with the modernized National Preventive Vaccination Schedule, polio immunization is executed solely with inactivated polio vaccine.
