The Center for Preventive Medicine of the State Administration of Affairs has established that the ailments affecting the people’s deputies and staff of the Verkhovna Rada are not caused by the food served in the cafeteria. They were diagnosed with norovirus, which is transmitted through physical contact, shared items, and respiratory droplets.

The illnesses of the people’s deputies and personnel of the Verkhovna Rada’s Office are unconnected to the food offerings in the Verkhovna Rada’s dining area; norovirus was identified, the Verkhovna Rada’s Office media service communicated on February 19, as UNN reports.
The diseases impacting the people’s deputies of Ukraine and the employees of the Administration are not linked to the food provided in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s cafeteria. This judgment was reached by the Center for Preventive Medicine of the State Administration of Affairs, based on the outcomes of the inquiry.
– the statement indicates.
As highlighted, “Following reports concerning potential instances of poisoning, the Administration of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine promptly launched a series of actions, engaging pertinent experts.”
“Representatives from the Center for Preventive Medicine of the State Administration of Affairs scrutinized the cafeteria and its workforce, examined documentation, food items, the process of food preparation, and undertook an analysis of potable water and water employed for cooking purposes, among other things. Specialists from the Kyiv City and Regional Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine were also instrumental in carrying out laboratory assessments,” the report conveyed.
The PCR examination revealed that the same strain of virus was ascertained in the individuals who submitted samples – norovirus (a rapid-onset infectious illness that commonly propagates in confined and populated environments and is disseminated through physical contact, domestic items, and airborne particles). The organization has enacted supplementary strategies to impede the advance of the contamination.
