Zelensky shows Kherson region’s Vysokillia after Russian occupation

The village of Vysokillia, Kherson region, liberated from the Russian invaders by Ukrainian defenders in September, had 4,000 residents before the war, but now only 200 are left.

President Vodymyr Zelensky wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“Wherever the occupiers come, only pain, devastation and losses remain. Liberated by our defenders during the counteroffensive in September, the village of Vysokillia in the Kherson region had 4,000 inhabitants before the war, but now only 200 are left. The occupation also claimed the lives of at least 13 residents of Vysokillia,” Zelensky wrote.

He also published a new short video from United24 Media about the difficult period of the Russian occupation and local residents' stories.

As reported, in the liberated village of Vysokillia in Kherson region, buildings were destroyed by shelling or looted by the Russian military.
