Zaporizhia NPP fully de-energized due to enemy shelling

The Zaporizhia nuclear power plant was completely de-energized due to enemy shelling.

That’s according to NAEC Energoatom, Ukraine’s nuclear erator, Ukrinform reports.

On November 2, as a result of shelling, the last two high-vtage power lines of Zaporizhia NPP connecting it with the Ukrainian power system sustained damaged. At 23:04 on Wednesday, the plant went into full blackout mode. All 20 diesel generators were activated.

Currently, the power supply scheme for ZNPP's own needs is timized so nine diesel generators remain in eration. Power units 5 and 6 have been transferred to a cd state.

There is enough fuel to feed diesel generators required in the mode of complete blackout for 15 days. The countdown has begun, Energoatom emphasized.

"Due to the occupation of the plant and the interference of Russian officials in its work, the possibilities of the Ukrainian side to maintain safe erations at the ZNPP are significantly limited," noted Energoatom. The erator once again appealed to the international community "with a call to urgently undertake measures for the fastest possible demilitarization of the ZNPP, removal from the plant and Enerhodar all the Russian forces, and the return of the Zaporizhia NPP under the full contr of Ukraine for the sake of the security of the whe world."
