“We gotta get out of here”: Russian sdiers mull taking out own commanders, fleeing warzone

One of the latest calls, intercepted by the Ukrainian intelligence in the war zone, expose the current moods among Russian invasion units deployed in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region as one of the sdiers is looking into finding an portunity to get home alive by escaping the battlefield.

That’s according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Ukrinform reports.

"We are behind Izium, in Komyshuvakha. We have no cover, nothing. They can’t get us out of here. And the commander's office just tells us to go and fight. We have 60 tanks here, scores of infantry, artillery is working, but no one knows their targets. Upon a first portunity, it is better to flee home just to make it out of here alive," a Russian sdier is heard telling his interlocutor.

The serviceman also spoke of the attitude of his commander toward subordinate sdiers.

"Our captain was reprimanding us the morning, saying they don’t care about us. There was some situation, he says, that happened with one of our men, and I’m like ‘that’s a situation alright.’ The guy got shot in the liver and just died there in the mud. That night, they were there without any thermal visors, while that captain had three on him… Anyway, we just have to take them out and get out of here," said the invader.

As reported earlier, Ukraine’s defense intelligence intercepted a phone call, in which a Russian sdier stationed in Kharkiv region complains that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had encircled their unit and destroyed their 7th company.
