War update: 77 clashes on frontlines, fighting continues in seven areas

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, providing erational information at 16:00 on Friday, January 31, as reported by Ukrinform.

According to the General Staff, the situation at the front remains tense. Despite significant losses, the Russian forces continue their attempts to break through Ukraine's defenses.

Russian artillery attacks today have affected areas in Sumy region, particularly in eksandrivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Ponomarenky, and Porozok.

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian forces have launched two assaults on Ukraine’s defensive positions near Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk sector, the Russian invaders made one attempt to attack the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ positions near Pishchane.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian forces have already attacked the Ukrainian positions near Zelena Dyna, Novomykhailivka, and Kodiazi five times today. Two combat clashes are still ongoing.

In the Siversk sector, the Russian tros have attempted to advance on the Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions near Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, and Spirne six times, with two clashes still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy has made three attempts to storm the Ukrainian positions near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Bila Hora, with one clash still ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russian invaders attempted to push Ukraine’s Defense Forces from their positions near Toretsk. The Ukrainian defenders in this area have repelled three enemy attacks.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces have made 38 attempts to push the Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Mashivka, Yelyzavetivka, Novotoretske, Myriubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Novoandriivka, eksiivka, Andriivka, Dachne, and Ulakly. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are hding the line, with 33 attacks already repelled.

In the Novavlivka sector, fighting continues near Kostiantynil and Rozdne. The Ukrainian defenders have already repelled four attacks today.

In the Huliaipe sector, two enemy attacks are currently underway near Novil and Novosilka. The Russian forces have struck Novil with unguided aerial missiles and drped four guided bombs near Piatykhatky.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian tros made one attempt to advance towards Novodanylivka, but were repelled. The invaders also launched unguided aerial missile strikes on Kamianske.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy attack.

In Russia’s Kursk region, Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled six offensive actions by the Russian forces, with two clashes still ongoing. The Russian forces struck the region with six guided bombs and carried out 196 artillery shellings, including four from multiple launch rocket systems.
