War update: 52 clashes on front lines since morning

Since the start of the day, 52 combat engagements have taken place between Ukrainian forces and Russian tros, with the enemy concentrating efforts on the Pokrovsk and Kupiansk sectors.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in its 16:00 update on February 2, according to Ukrinform.

Ukrainian defenders are hding their positions, wearing down the enemy along the entire front line and in rear areas. Meanwhile, Russian forces continue shelling Ukraine's border regions with artillery. Today, eksandrivka in the Chernihiv region, as well as Stepok, Ponomarenky, Pivka, Hirky, Riasne, Prohres, Slavgorod, Turia, Bachivsk, and Bobylivka in the Sumy region, came under enemy fire.

Russian aircraft also struck eksandrivka in the Sumy region and Hremiachka in the Chernihiv region.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces made 12 attempts to advance toward Ukrainian positions near Petravlivka, Pishchane, Stepova Novoselivka, Zahryzove, and Lozova. Ukrainian defenders have repelled five attacks, while seven battles are still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russian tros launched six assaults on Ukrainian positions near Novoiehorivka, Makiivka, Yampivka, and toward Serebrianka. One engagement is still underway.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled a Russian attack near Ivano-Darivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, fighting continues near Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian tros made two attempts to advance near Toretsk and Krymske.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the most intense fighting — 25 clashes of varying intensity — has occurred today. Ukrainian defenders continue repelling Russian attacks near Zelenyi Hai, Tarasivka, Myriubivka, Promin, Kotliarivka, eksiivka, Dachne, and Ulakly. Six battles are still ongoing.

In the Novavlivka sector, Russian tros attempted to break through toward Kostiantynil but were stped by Ukrainian forces.

In the Huliaipe sector, Russian aviation struck near Novil.

Russian tros have not conducted active erations today in the Kharkiv, Orikhiv, Huliaipe, and Dnipro River sectors.

In Russia's Kursk region, Ukrainian forces have repelled two Russian attacks, while two more engagements are ongoing. The Russian army has drped four guided aerial bombs on this area.
