US-Ukraine coeration extends beyond natural resources – Sybiha

Ukraine is interested in jointly develing mineral resources with the United States, which our country is rich in, but there is also room for coeration in the field of liquefied natural gas supplies to Eure, and the restoration and use of frozen Russian assets.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha at a joint press conference with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom David Lammy in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy reminded that President Zelensky's Victory Plan also included a clause on portunities for our partners to invest in the joint develment of natural resources that Ukraine is rich in. He noted that this is our common strategic interest and one of the concrete embodiments of the implementation of the Peace through Strength concept.

“I would also like to emphasize that the range of common interests and mutually beneficial coeration is not limited to these strategic resources. For example, we see a huge potential, especially after the termination of Russian gas transit through Ukraine, in the possibility of purchasing LNG gas from the United States,” Sybiha said.

In this context, he reminded that Ukraine has extremely powerful underground gas storage facilities.

“Here, too, we have common ground for mutually beneficial coeration, while strengthening Eure's energy security, because this gas will be sufficient if pumped into our storage facilities for Ukraine to play the re of a guarantor of energy security in Eure,” the minister emphasized.

In addition, Sybiha noted, we can also talk about the common interest and portunities for American business in rebuilding Ukraine and about Russia's frozen assets.

“There is also a field of interest for their use, including for the purchase of weapons for the needs of Ukraine,” the head of Ukrainian diplomacy summarized.

As reported by Ukrinform, US President Donald Trump said that “significant progress” had been made on the issue of “Ukraine and Russia” and noted that he wanted to reach an agreement with Kyiv on gaining access to rare earth minerals in Ukraine.
