Ukraine’s Ukroboronprom, France’s Thales to establish joint venture

Ukraine's Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"We are starting a new day at the Munich Security Conference with the signing of an important document. Ukroboronprom and Thales International SAS have agreed to establish a joint venture and have formalized their commitments on paper," Smetanin wrote.

According to him, the new enterprise will focus on develing advanced technogical sutions to strengthen air defense, radar systems, electronic warfare (EW), tactical communications, and electro-tical systems.

"Ukraine's defense industry has been coerating with Thales for a long time, and I am pleased that this partnership is now deepening into a joint venture," Smetanin added.
