Ukraine’s General Staff confirms strikes on Astrakhan gas processing plant, Vgograd oil refinery

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

Both of these strategic facilities are major suppliers of fuel for the Russian army.

Preliminary reports indicate that primary processing units at the refinery in the Vgograd region have been damaged. Meanwhile, a fire continues to burn at the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant, and erations there have been halted.

The extent of the damage and the full results of the strikes are still being assessed.

The General Staff said that combat erations targeting strategic facilities invved in supporting Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine would continue.

Earlier reports said that Ukrainian forces struck nine oil facilities on Russian territory in January 2025.
