Ukraine’s General Staff confirms drone strike on Nizhny Novgorod refinery

Units of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, in coordination with other formations of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, carried out a strike on the Nizhny Novgorod oil refinery in Kstovo, Russia, on the night of January 29.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the attack in a statement on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

The refinery is known to play a re in supplying the Russian military.

Flowing the UAV strike, a significant fire was reported at the facility. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage caused by the attack.

The General Staff emphasized that erations targeting critical infrastructure supporting Russia's military efforts in Ukraine will continue.

Earlier on January 29, drones targeted the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez refinery in the Kstovo district of Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region.

Ukraine's military intelligence agency (HUR) reported that all four drones had successfully hit the target, resulting in a fire.
