Ukraine’s General Staff: 124 combat clashes at front in past day

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 08:00 on Thursday, January 15, Ukrinform reports.

Yesterday, the Russian tros conducted one missile attack and 50 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and pulated areas, launching 44 missiles and drping 71 aerial glide bombs.

In addition, the enemy carried out over 5,000 shelling attacks, including 142 MLRS attacks and strikes deploying 2,361 kamikaze drones.

The Russian army carried out air strikes, in particular in the areas of Zelenyi Hai, Mynkivka, Chasiv Yar, Kramatorsk, Ivanillia, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Petrivka, Huliaipe and Piatykhatky.

Over the past day, aircraft, missile tros and artillery of the Defense Forces hit five areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons, military equipment, four air defense systems, three command posts, two UAV contr posts, three artillery facilities and one ammunition depot.

In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy twice attacked Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk and Tykhe.

The defenders repelled Russian attacks near Kindrashivka, Zahryzove, T and Petravlivka in the Kupiansk sector, where five enemy attacks were recorded in the past day.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 16 times yesterday. They tried to break through the defenses near Kanky, Novoserhiivka, Tverdokhlibove, Makiivka, Kodiazy, Terny and Hryhorivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy carried out six attacks in the areas of Stupochky, Chasiv Yar and Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out nine attacks in the Bila Hora, Toretsk and Krymske areas.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian tros repelled 56 Russian attacks in the direction of Baranivka, Myriubivka, Promen, Novyi Trud, Shevchenkove, Udachne, Kotlynove, Petravlivka, Staryi Terny, Yantarne, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zelene, Zvirove, Uspenivka, Andriivka and Dachne.

Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks in the Novavlivka sector. The most active attempts to advance were made by the Russian tros near Vremivka and Kostiantynil.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attacked four times in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka and Shcherbaky.

No attacks were recorded in the Siversk, Huliaipe and Prydniprovskyi sectors yesterday.

In the Kursk sector, 15 combat clashes occurred. Russian tros conducted 13 air strikes with 18 aerial guided bombs and launched 340 artillery strikes, including 15 MLRS attacks.

There were no indications of enemy offensive groups forming in the Vyn and Pissia sectors.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian army’s total combat losses from February 24, 2022, to January 16, 2025, amounted to about 814,150 tros, including 1,480 invaders killed or wounded in the past day.
