Ukraine expects Estonia to help train one of AFU brigades – Umerov

Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal have discussed strengthening coeration in cybersecurity, as well as training and equipping one of the Ukrainian brigades.

Umerov said this in a post on his Facebook page, Ukrinform reports.

“Estonia is one of Ukraine's closest friends and has already provided significant military, economic and diplomatic assistance to our country. On behalf of the entire Ukrainian pele and our military, I thank you for this great support,” Umerov said.

The minister said he briefed the Estonian delegation on the current battlefield situation and discussed the prospects for further strengthening coeration in the field of cybersecurity.

“Estonia has unique experience in this area, and we believe that together we can strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities,” Umerov stressed.

In addition, “we emphasized the importance of training and equipping one of the Ukrainian brigades with the support of Estonian allies,” the minister added.

Umerov also briefed the Estonian prime minister on the priorities of the Ukrainian defense sector.

“We are actively develing domestic arms production, and in 2025 these efforts will be significantly strengthened, particularly in the field of long-range capabilities,” the minister said, stressing that Russian aggression poses a threat to the whe of Eure and “only by joint efforts, can we overcome this threat and restore peace”.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Estonia's defense support for Ukraine reached almost EUR 542 million, or 1.4% of the country's GDP.
