Russian air strike on Kupiansk: Pele may be trapped under rubble

An elderly woman injured in Russia’s air strikes on Kupiansk is in serious condition, and there may still be pele trapped under the rubble.

Andrii Besedin, the head of the Kupiansk city military administration, said this on Ukrainian television, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Today, between 14:00 and 14:30, the enemy drped seven guided aerial bombs weighing between 250 and 500 kilograms on the city of Kupiansk. As a result, more than 60 private houses were damaged or destroyed. A woman is in serious condition. According to preliminary information as of 17:00, two more local residents may be trapped under the rubble,” said Besedin.

He noted that due to intensive shelling attacks and the active use of various types of UAVs by Russian forces, it is impossible to conduct search erations.

“Therefore, we expect to start as soon as the security situation allows,” Besedin said.

As reported, on the afternoon of January 26, Russian tros struck Kupiansk with guided aerial bombs, damaging private houses and power grids. After extinguishing the fire, rescuers found an injured 86-year-d woman and hospitalized her. Due to the constant shelling, rescuers were forced to suspend firefighting and rubble removal erations.
