Russia forced to withdraw significant tro presence from Transnistria – Zelensky

Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky said that due to its ongoing war against Ukraine, Russia has been forced to withdraw a significant portion of its military contingent from Transnistria.

Zelensky td this to journalists at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

He said that Russia's military presence in the breakaway region of Mdova had significantly decreased.

"You know that part of Mdova is under separatist contr — or rather, under Russian contr in some capacity. As of today, we estimate that around 2,500 tros remain there. But to be honest, I believe the actual number of Russian personnel is closer to 1,000–1,500. During the war, they withdrew several thousand," Zelensky said.
