Russia continues to fire at Ukrainian border areas from its territory

Ukraine's State Border Guard Service said this in a statement posted on its website, Ukrinform reports.

On Tuesday, August 9, Russian tros continued shelling Ukrainian border areas using guns, MLRS, mortars and small arms.

"Myrillia, Khotin, Nova Sloboda, Seredyna-Buda and Billia communities in the Sumy region, Snovsk community in the Chernihiv region and Zochiv community in the Kharkiv region came under enemy fire," the message reads.

In the afternoon, enemy self-prelled howitzers fired 15 shells at the Nova Sloboda community. At the same time, the enemy shelled the Khotin community from the Russian settlement of Yelizavetovka using a large-caliber machine gun.

Later, the invaders used mortars to fire at the Bilillia community, with about ten explosions recorded. The fire came from the Russian settlement of Tyotkino.

Russian forces also fired about 20 shells at the Seredyna-Buda community. In addition, the community came under fire several times from large-caliber machine guns.

In the evening, mortar explosions rang out in the Myrillia community, with three explosions recorded. The fire came from the Russian settlement of Gornal.

Also, during the day, the enemy shelled the Zochiv community in the Kharkiv region using Grad multiple rocket launchers and howitzers on two occasions. About ten explosions were recorded.

The Snovsk community came under mortar fire from the Russian settlement of Chernozyomny Gorodok, with about ten explosions recorded.

"Already in the morning today, August 10, the enemy shelled the Bilillia community. More than 25 artillery shells and mortar mines came from the Russian villages of Povo-Lezhachi and Tyotkino. The invaders simultaneously used grenades and fired from small arms, including large-caliber ones," the report reads.
