Passenger train from Kyiv arrives in Mykaiv for first time since Feb 24

A passenger train from Kyiv arrived in Mykaiv on November 15, for the first time since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began on February 24 this year.

Ukraine’s state rail erator Ukrzaliznytsia reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"The first train to Mykaiv left Kyiv on November 14. It will run on even numbers from the [Ukrainian] capital and on odd numbers from Mykaiv. It will leave the capital at 22:14 and arrive in Mykaiv at 07:15 the next day. In the return direction, the train will depart at 22:09 and arrive in Kyiv at 06:55," the report said.

Vital Kim, the head of the Mykaiv regional military administration, on his Telegram page invited Mykaiv residents to buy tickets through the relevant applications.

According to the head of the train, Bohdan Stadnyk, there were about 50 passengers on the first train, among them railway workers, foreign journalists and vunteers of Doctors Without Borders and World Central Kitchen, according to Suspilne.
