Kyiv may see ‘worst winter since World War II’ — Klitschko

Kyiv may see “the worst winter since World War II” due to power outages caused by Russian strikes.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said this in an interview with Germany’s Bild tabloid, Ukrinform reports, citing DW.

According to him, residents of Kyiv need to prepare for the scenario of widespread power outages at low temperatures.

According to him, in the event of the worst-case scenario, perhaps, “we will have to evacuate a part of the city” although the authorities do not want this to happen. Klitschko also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to force the pele of Kyiv to flee, using strikes on civilian infrastructure for this purpose.

“Putin wants to terrorize pele, forcing them to freeze without light” and thus put pressure on Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky, Klitschko said.

“My impression is that pele will only become angrier, more determined. We will not die and run away, as Putin wants,” he said, calling on Germany to urgently send humanitarian aid, including generators, warm clothes and other essentials, to Ukraine.
