General Staff reports 92 clashes on frontline in Ukraine

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in a Facebook update at 22:00 on February 9, as cited by Ukrinform.

“Since the beginning of the day, 92 combat engagements took place, the enemy carried out two missile strikes and 58 airstrikes, used two missiles and drped 86 guided aerial bombs, made 1,086 kamikaze drone strikes and 4,429 shellings of our tros' positions,” the report reads.

In the Kharkiv sector, three Russian assaults were repelled near Vovchansk and Fyhivka. The invaders launched aerial strikes at Nesterne and Slatyne.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched seven attack at the Ukrainian positions, mainly near Bohuslavka, Stepova Novosilka, and Petravlivka. Six assaults have been repelled, one battle is ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy carried out 10 assaults inear Zelenyi Hai, Novoserhiivka, Yampivka, Kodizi, Kanky, and Noviubivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, two battles are currently ongoing near Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russian invaders attacked the Ukrainian defenders’ positions 12 times near Toretsk, Krymske, and Shcherbynivka. Two clashes near Toretsk are still underway.

In the Pokrovsk sector, 31 enemy assaults have been reported throughout the day. The hotspots remain Zelene Pe, Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Pishchane, Udachne, Novoeksandrivka, Andriivka, and Dachne. Two battles are ongoing. The enemy carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Zvirove, Pokrovsk, Filya, and Hrodivka.

According to preliminary estimates, today the Ukrainian defenders have eliminated 114 and wounded 97 occupiers in this direction; they have also destroyed one armored personnel carrier, seven vehicles, five motorcycles, four UAVs, and significantly damaged a tank and two artillery guns of the invaders.

In the Novavlivka sector, eight Russian assaults near Kostiantynil failed. Airstrikes targeted the settlements of Rozlyv, Odradne, Novosilka, and Storozhove.

In the Siversk, Huliaipe, Prydniprovske, and Orikhiv sectors, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions. At the same time, they carried out airstrikes with 43 guided bombs and 10 unguided rockets on the settlements of Huliaipe, Chervone, Novil, Piatykhatky, Kamianske, Lukianivske, Stepnohirske, and Prydniprovske.

In the Kursk sector, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 enemy attacks, while one battle is still ongoing. Also, the enemy launched 23 airstrikes, 37 glide bombs, and 394 artillery shellings.

No significant changes have been reported in other sectors of the front.

"Today we will commend the sdiers of the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the 79th Border Guard Detachment, who are steadfastly hding back the enemy's overwhelming assault," the AFU General Staff concluded.
