The Russian occupying administrations continue to hide the facts of the spread of diseases in the temporarily occupied territory in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Press secretary of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Colonel Oleksandr Motuzianyk says the epidemiological situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas is becoming worse.

“The Russian occupying administrations continue to hide the facts of the spread of diseases in the temporarily occupied territory in Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” he said at a briefing on Tuesday, with reference to intelligence data.

According to Motuzianyk, representatives of the so-called “security agencies” seize clinical records of the deceased, warn medical staff about criminal prosecution for disclosing information, including facts that most of those infected in March visited the Russian Federation through border sections not controlled by Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the process of issuing Russian passports to the local population is underway. Since the beginning of April, over 2,000 people have been transported by special buses to Russia’s Rostov region and back to Ukraine.

“According to intelligence, this leads to a worsening of the epidemiological situation in the temporarily occupied territory in Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” Motuzianyk concluded.
