Enemy reduces drone usage on southern front due to bad weather – Ukrainian military

On Ukraine's southern front, adverse weather conditions have led to a reduction in the enemy's use of kamikaze and reconnaissance drones.

However, Russian forces have intensified artillery and rocket fire, Vladyslav Voshyn, spokesperson for Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces, td Ukrinform.

"The number of attacks from artillery systems and multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) has remained consistent or may have slightly increased. For example, in the past day, there were almost 250 kamikaze drone strikes, compared to the usual 350 or more. Artillery and MLRS attacks, however, remain at 250-300 daily, as weather conditions do not impact their eration," Voshyn said.

He added that in the Vremivka sector, the enemy has maintained high levels of assault activity, with 27 erations recorded in the last day alone, resulting in up to 200 Russian casualties daily. Russian forces have also become more active in the Kherson sector, where seven combat clashes occurred.

"For some reason, the enemy has been attempting to enter the southern island of Zabych over the past week. As usual, there has been activity on Kozatskyi Island, where several assaults have occurred. This indicates that the enemy is continuing to escalate the situation and preparing for assault and forcing erations by small infantry groups in the Dnipro River sector near Kherson," the spokesman said.

According to Voshyn, enemy activity remains high in the Zaporizhzhia and Vremivka sectors. Here, the invaders aim to reach the border of the Donetsk and Dnipretrovsk regions at all costs, regardless of losses, with a particular focus on capturing one of the area's largest settlements, Velyka Novosilka.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces are maintaining active defense, striking enemy positions, and destroying Russian armored vehicles and manpower, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Russian forces are preparing for new assault erations by small infantry groups in the Orikhiv sector. They have moved personnel to forward positions and evacuated both wounded and irrecoverable losses from these areas. This suggests the enemy is mobilizing fresh tros to carry out upcoming assault erations with small infantry units.

"In the Huliaipe sector, the enemy is actively conducting aerial and engineering reconnaissance, attempting to locate our firepower and positions, and carrying out detailed reconnaissance in preparation for potential future assault erations," Voshyn said.

Overall, the situation has stabilized and has seen little change over the past one-and-a-half weeks, the spokesman concluded.
