Armed Forces of Ukraine repulse all enemy assaults and attacks

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled all Russia’s attacks in the east and stped the breakthrough attempt in Southern Buh direction.

This is stated in the latest report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, August 19, published on Facebook.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy ened fire from tanks, tube and rocket artillery in the areas of the localities of Svitle, Sedar, Berestove, Vershyna, Bilohorivka, Zalizne, Yakovlivka. Airstrikes were launched near Sedar and Yakovlivka. The invaders went on offensives and assaulted the areas of Bakhmut, Sedar, Kodema, Bakhmutske, and Zaytseve, but had no success and retreated.

In Kharkiv direction, the Russian invaders fired tube and rocket artillery on civilian infrastructure in the areas of Kharkiv, Protivka, Petrivka, Slatyne, Velyki Prokhody, Korobochkyne, Milova, and Husarivka. Airstrikes were launched near Staryi Saltiv and Yavirske. The enemy maintains a high intensity of aerial reconnaissance.

The Russians tried to improve their tactical position near Pytomnyk, were repulsed and retreated. They placed mines near Staryi Saltiv and Verkhn Saltiv remotely.

In Slovyansk direction, the enemy ened fire from tanks, tube and rocket artillery near Dibrivne, Virnillia, Chepil, and Bohorodychne.

In the areas of Karnaukhivka, Dibrivne, Virnillia, and Dyna, the enemy made attempts to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian tros. "The invaders suffered losses and fled infamously," the General Staff informed.

In Kramatorsk direction, the enemy shelling was recorded near Siversk, Hryhorivka, Berestove, and Ivano-Daryivka.

The invaders tried to advance near Vyimka and Ivano-Daryivka, were strongly repulsed and retreated.

In Avdiivka direction, the areas of Novoukrayinka, Krasnohorivka, Vodiane, Marinka, Shevchenko, Lastochkyne, Avdiivka, and ytne came under fire. The enemy launched airstrikes near Marinka, Novoselivka Druha, and Nevelske. The invaders went on an offensive near ytne, Pisky, and Mayorsk, had no success, retreated.

In Novavlivsk direction, shelling was recorded near Velyka Novosilka, Pavlivka, Novomykhaylivka, and Zota Nyva. The enemy launched airstrikes near Pavlivka and Novomykhailivka. Near the latter, the enemy made futile attempts to improve the tactical position, suffered losses, and retreated.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Samiilivka, Huliaype, Preobrazhenka, Mala Tokmachka, Ptavka, Novosilka, Temyrivka, Zaliznychne, and Novoandriivka with tube and rocket artillery and tanks. The Russians launched airstrikes near Shcherbaky, Dorozhnianka, and Novosilka, actively conducted aerial reconnaissance of the Ukrainian positions.

In Southern Buh direction, the enemy focused its efforts on preventing the advance of Ukrainian tros and compensating for losses. The invaders continued firing tanks and artillery along the entire contact line. The enemy launched airstrikes near Mykaivske, Nove Zhyttia, Pervomayske, Bila Krynytsia, and Lozove.

The Russians made an attempt to break through the Ukrainian defenses in the area of Kirove but suffered losses in a strike and retreated chaotically.

No signs of the creation of offensive groups were detected in Vyn and Pissya directions. The air force and air defense units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus are held. There is still a threat of enemy missile and air strikes from the territory and airspace of Belarus.

In Siversky direction, the enemy struck civilian and military infrastructure near of Pushkari, Chernihiv region, and Myrillia and Pavlivka, Sumy region.

In the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, the enemy's naval group continues to back the actions of the ground group of tros, block civilian shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, and hit objects and infrastructure elements deep in the territory of Ukraine.

As reported, the defenders of Ukraine eliminated about 44,700 Russian invaders from February 24 to August 19.
