Air defenses destroy all Russian drones approaching Kyiv – city administration

Air defense forces destroyed all Russian strike UAVs headed toward Kyiv on the night of October 16.

The Kyiv City Military Administration announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

According to Kyiv administration’s head Serh Pko, after a one-day break, for the first time in almost 50 days, Russian tros resumed terrorizing civilian cities in Ukraine with combat drones.

In particular, the enemy attempted to attack Kyiv with unmanned aerial vehicles.

“The air alert in the capital lasted more than two hours. All enemy UAVs that threatened Kyiv were destroyed on the approach to the capital,” Pko wrote.

There have been no reports of damage or casualties.

“As of now, Russian drones are still spotted in the Kyiv region, and air defense measures are in place to destroy them. However, enemy drones may be redirected towards Kyiv, and an air alert will be then announced in the capital,” Pko noted.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Ukrainian forces shot down 51 Russian Shahed UAVs overnight, 60 drones disappeared from radars.
