AFU will get 11 PUMA-LE unmanned aircraft systems
"We are buying 11 powerful PUMA-LE unmanned aircraft systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They cost over UAH 540 million. The drones are equipped with a conventional and thermal imaging camera with 6x zoom, allowing to detect the enemy during the day, at night and in any weather," Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov posted on Telegram.
As noted, the system antennas provide an erational range of 60 km. Such a range will help the defenders to make their way to the rear of the enemy. Drones have up to 6.5 hours of flight endurance and rise to a height of up to 3 km which would make them invisible to invaders.
"PUMA-LE is in service with 18 world countries: the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, etc. Now we reinforce our front with such ‘birds’," Fedorov added.
As reported, the Army of drones is a project initiated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. This is a comprehensive program aimed at the systematic purchase of drones, their repair, as well as training courses for relevant specialists. The project started on July 1.
