279 children considered missing in Ukraine
The press service of the Ombudsman's Office said this in a Telegram post, referring to the ‘Children of War’ state portal for finding missing children, Ukrinform reports.
"Data on affected children as of November 12, 2022: 279 – missing, 11,028 – deported, 7,460 – found, 96 – returned,” the Ombudsman's Office said.
According to the information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 430 children were killed and more than 826 received injuries of various degrees of severity as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression.
It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Most children were affected in Donetsk region – 421, Kharkiv region – 263, Kyiv region – 116, Mykaiv region – 77, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 64, Kherson region – 58, Zaporizhzhia region – 70, and Dnipretrovsk region – 31.
In addition, regular air strikes and shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas by the Russian armed forces damaged 2,719 educational institutions. Of which, 332 were completely destroyed.
