The famous fashion brand Zara may gradually leave Ukraine. Inditex, which is developing the brand, has already abandoned retail space in the Dnipro.
What is known about Zara in Dnipro?
She officially terminated the lease agreements she had at the Most City and Karavan shopping centers, NV reports.
This was told to the publication by Lidiya Smetana, the founder of the clothing brand One By One. According to her, shopping centers have turned to Ukrainian manufacturers to provide retail space for rent that was previously occupied by international brands.
The management of a number of shopping centers approached us with a proposal for cooperation even before their contracts with Inditex were terminated,
– Smetana explained.
However, the businesswoman did not specify which shopping centers offered cooperation to Ukrainian manufacturers.
What about Zara in Odessa and Kharkiv?
The issue of the presence of the fashion brand Zara in Odessa and Kharkiv remains in question. For now, the company is still paying rent for retail space. However, the stores have not actually resumed operation.
As the publication notes, the Spanish fashion brand may leave Ukraine due to the war:
- work is complicated by constant Russian shelling;
- Shopping malls operate unstably;
- The number of buyers is falling, making the business unprofitable.
