USA to provide Ukraine with $800 mln for energy sector restoration – Svyrydenko

The United States is providing Ukraine with an $800 million financing package for the energy sector, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko said.

"We are deeply grateful for 🇺🇲 support in constructing passive protection systems, as well as the $800 million financing package for the energy sector. During this visit, we provided a list of critical equipment necessary for immediate repairs, created by the Cabinet of Ministers," she said on the X network following the visit of the Ukrainian delegation led by her to the United States.

At the same time, Svyrydenko said energy was one of the key topics during the trip to the United States, the operational steps for the restoration of which she discussed, in particular, with Deputy Secretary of Energy David M. Turk.

"I appreciate David M. Turk's clear message that the United States is ready to support us with both the much-needed equipment and the technical support for its installation," the Deputy Prime Minister said. In the statement, she said more than 50% of Ukraine's energy infrastructure was damaged by Russian airstrikes.
