JSC Ukrzaliznytsia is ready to meet with agribusiness to discuss pricing for the transportation of agricultural products, head of the Ukrzaliznytsia board Oleksandr Pertsovsky said at the conference Doing Agribusiness in Ukraine in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"In no case does Ukrzaliznytsia have the goal of blowing up Ukrainian agricultural exports. We understand that there must be predictability in the formation of prices for transportation… Ukrzaliznytsia specialists are ready to meet with businesses, ready to talk about compensators. There is a model of long predictable contracts, the ability to fix prices for grain trucks, programs for subsidizing shipments from frontline regions, and route shipments with discounts. Each model can be improved if we work in dialogue," he said.
Pertsovsky recalled that in Ukraine, regulatory legal acts provide for annual indexation of freight tariffs for rail transportation. However, previously there was no systematic process of tariff revision in the country – indexation was in the nature of "rapid jumps."
The head of the Ukrzaliznytsia board emphasized that in 2025 the price of grain trucks is expected to be at a "fairly moderate level."
In addition, he noted that Ukrzaliznytsia is ready to compete with road transport for domestic transportation of agricultural products.
