How much taxes has Ukrposhta paid and where does it get the money from / Ukrposhta
Ukrainians have repeatedly claimed that Ukrposhta operates and develops at the expense of citizens' taxes. However, Igor Smilyanskyi said that the company earns its own money and pays taxes to the budget.
How much tax does Ukrposhta pay?
Ukrposhta earns money by delivering parcels and selling food products, and also pays taxes, said the company's CEO, Ihor Smilyansky.
The harsh reality: there is not a penny (not a “step”) of subsidies or grants for Ukrposhta in the state budget – although this is a common practice for Europe. For example: our neighbors, the Polish Post, receive about 170 million euros from the budget every year,
– says Smilyansky.
According to him, Ukrposhta and its employees paid over 3.6 billion hryvnia in taxes to budgets of various levels for 2025:
- Single social contribution – 1,375,714 hryvnias;
- Personal income tax – 1,178,498 hryvnias;
- Military fee — 328,633 hryvnias;
- VAT – 631,987 hryvnias;
- Taxes on land, real estate, environmental, etc. – 96,807 hryvnias;
- Others (customs duty, income tax, etc.) – 1,597 hryvnias.
For the especially talented ones who write that we took it from the budget and paid it into the budget. Where does Ukrposhta get the money? Well, here it is: we delivered 10,000,000 parcels for 50 hryvnias each – and we have 500,000,000 hryvnias in income. From it we pay salaries, expenses, taxes, etc.,
– says Smilyansky.
