Ukrgazvydobuvannia launches new well with flow rate of 170,000 cubic meters/day

JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia (UGV) launched a new well with a depth of 4,202 meters and a flow rate of 170,000 cubic meters of gas per day, the press service of Naftogaz Group reported.

According to its data, this is already the 15th well at this field since the beginning of 2024. Another one is planned to be drilled by the end of the year.

"A new well has been drilled in the central part of the field. By the end of the year, we plan to drill another one and four more next year. Thanks to the professional and coordinated work of all UGV specialists, we have been able to increase production for the second year," said Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov.

As Ukrgazvydobuvannia CEO Serhiy Lahno said, this result was achieved thanks to the successful choice of well location.

"This was preceded by previously conducted 3D seismic exploration studies and their qualitative analysis, preliminary determination of promising horizons, as well as clarification of their capacity," he explained.

As reported, in January-October 2024, Ukrgazvydobuvannia increased commercial gas production by 6% compared to the same period in 2023 – to 11.6 billion cubic meters. According to the results of 2023, commercial gas production amounted to 13.224 billion cubic meters, which is 679 million cubic meters more than in 2022.

Naftogaz Ukrainy owns 100% of the shares of Ukrgazvydobuvannia.
