NPC Ukrenergo has issued technical conditions for the connection of distributed generation projects totaling nearly 1.3 GW, 70% of which are maneuverable gas generation projects, said acting Board Chairman Oleksiy Brekht.
"Ukrenergo has issued technical conditions for the connection of distributed generation projects totaling around 1.3 GW. This has been achieved over the past three or four months, from biogas projects to relatively small renewable energy projects," he said during the Energy Day 2024 event hosted by the European Business Association.
Later, he clarified that 70% of the issued conditions are for maneuverable gas generation, while the remaining 30% are small wind and solar power projects.
The head of the system operator also emphasized that the timeline for preparing documents for connection has been significantly shortened.
"If earlier we were talking about dozens of days for preparing the initial data for design, coordinating technical conditions, today it's just two days for the transmission system operator and two days for the distribution system operator," Brekht said.
Earlier, on October 10, the CEO of the system operator mentioned that NPC Ukrenergo expects to see at least 600 MW of new generating capacity in the grid by the end of the year and is preparing infrastructure for the use of floating power stations.
