Ukrainian-made goods reach 70% in Eco-Market stores

The nationwide supermarket chain Eco-Market plans to join the National Cashback program, with the share of domestically produced goods in its stores now reaching 70%, announced Inna Miroshnychenko, President of Eco-Market, in a comment to Interfax-Ukraine.

"Our chain has always supported domestic producers, favoring products made in Ukraine. Currently, the share of such goods in Eco-Market is 70% – almost 10% more than in 2023. We are already in negotiations (within the National Cashback program) with representatives of relevant ministries, discussing all the technical aspects of this program," Miroshnychenko said.

She added that the chain's experts believe this program will positively impact the sales dynamics of domestically produced goods.

"It is important now that more money stays in Ukraine. This not only replenishes the state budget but also allows companies to raise wages and create new jobs," Miroshnychenko said.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the procedure for providing the National Cashback at its meeting on August 20. Under this program, Ukrainians can receive a 10% refund on the cost of goods they purchase. According to information on the Ministry of Economy's website, the program will start on September 2, 2024. The maximum cashback amount is UAH 3,000 per month, and the funds can be used for medical and utility services, sports, cinema tickets, train tickets, donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, or to purchase military bonds.

Registration for producers to participate in the National Cashback program began on August 24, and registration for consumers will start soon, followed by a beta testing phase.
