Ukrainian insurance company Oranta increased premiums by 54% and payments by 25% in 2024

In 2024, the National Joint-Stock Insurance Company Oranta (Kyiv) increased the collection of insurance premiums by 54% compared to the previous year – to UAH 2.35 billion, and payments increased by 25% – to UAH 155.2 million, as reported by the company.

Premium increases were seen in all key segments: MTPL increased by 44%, Green Card by 126%, voluntary motor insurance by 29%, health insurance by 96%, property insurance by 22%, and accident insurance by 28%. These figures confirm Oranta's strategic diversification and ability to respond promptly to customer requests.

In 2024, the company paid out UAH 657 million in insurance compensation, which is 25% more than in 2023, due to the expansion of the portfolio and an increase in the number of settled losses. The total amount of losses under OSAGO was UAH 487 million (+34%), under the Green Card – UAH 99 million.

Corporate premiums increased by 26%, and Oranta paid almost UAH 160 million in taxes (+42%). The company made a profit of UAH 157 million thanks to effective pricing and expansion of the client base. Insurance reserves increased by 44% to UAH 1.35 billion, which ensured financial stability.

CEO Jacek Meissner highlighted digitalization as the main direction of development, and CFO Yulia Kozachenko noted that Oranta's growth rates exceed the market (the industry growth forecast is 35%). The company's capital increased by 58%, reaching UAH 768.5 million as of December 31, 2024, with a return on equity of 25%.

Oranta, the successor of Ukrgosstrakh (founded in 1921), has been operating in Ukraine for over 100 years and has 33 insurance licenses.
