Ukraine’s steel production exceeds 7M tonnes since early 2024 – Ukrmetalurgprom
The relevant statement was made by Ukrmetalurgprom Association of Enterprises, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Over 11 months of 2024, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises have produced 7.03 million tonnes of steel (+23.1% compared to January-November 2023), 6.52 million tonnes of pig iron (+19.8%), and 5.74 million tonnes of rled metal (+18%).
At the same time, in contrast to October 2024, steel production vumes reduced by 10.4% in November 2024, totaling 540.8 thousand tonnes. Overall, Ukraine’s steel production has been showing a downward trend for six months in a row.
The production output of pig iron also decreased by 13.1% in November 2024 compared to the previous month, having reached 542.9 thousand tonnes. Meanwhile, the production output of rled metal increased by 7.8% compared to October 2024, totaling 477 thousand tonnes.
A reminder that Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises may produce up to 7.3 million tonnes of steel in 2024. Last year Ukraine’s steel production output was 6.2 million tonnes.
