Ukraine’s finance ministry raises UAH 5.6B from govt bond sale
According to Ukrinform, the ministry's press service said this in a Facebook post.
"Today, at the auctions, the Finance Ministry placed government bonds worth more than UAH 5.6 billion in equivalent," the report said.
The ministry offered investors hryvnia-denominated government bonds: UAH 39 million at 18.5% with repayment in 1 year; UAH 65 million at 19% with repayment in 1.3 years; UAH 2.355 billion at 19.7% with repayment in 2.3 years. They were also offered U.S. dlar-denominated bonds for $86 million at 4.25% with repayment in six months.
Due to Russian aggression, the Ukrainian government decided on the phased issuance of military bonds in the amount of up to UAH 400 billion. The Ministry of Finance hds auctions for the sale of domestic government loan bonds every Tuesday, starting from March 1, 2022. According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, almost UAH 600 billion was received through the issuance of military bonds in 2022.
