The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at a meeting on Tuesday approved a bill on amendments to the law On automobile transport on certain issues of transportation of perishable food products, the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk said on Telegram channel.
He said the adopted document is aimed at introducing the implementation of the provisions of the agreement on the international transportation of perishable food products and on special vehicles intended for such transportation.
"The draft law proposes to define the terms 'isothermal vehicle,' 'isothermal vehicle certificate' and 'perishable food products' and establish mandatory requirements for obtaining isothermal vehicle certificates for TS transporting perishable food products," Melnychuk said.
In addition, it is envisaged to establish requirements for organizations acquiring the right to carry out technical inspections for compliance with the requirements of the agreement, and to determine the powers of the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety to inform the UN Economic Commission for Europe about the issuance of certificates in Ukraine for insulated transport vehicles for their recognition by the countries participating in the agreement. The government intends to establish a transition period (one year after the end of martial law) for the mandatory introduction of the agreement's requirements for domestic transportation of perishable food products, the report specifies.
