Ukraine court seizes almost 2,500 t of iron Russian-produced ore

The court ruled to seize almost 2,500 tonnes of iron ore produced by the Russian Federation.

That’s according to the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrinform reports.

"Under the procedural guidance of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, almost 2,500 tonnes of iron ore belonging to Russia’s JSC Metalloinvest group of companies was located and seized,” the statement reads.

According to the inquiry, Russian entities imported iron ore into Ukraine’s customs territory with an intention to further transport it by sea to third countries for sale.

The batch, worth nearly UAH 40 billion, was discovered at one of Odesa region’s railway stations.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under the article of funding efforts aimed at a vient overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of power, as well as altering the borders of Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, in February, 166,000 tonnes of iron ore, belonging to a foreign entity, with an estimated value of UAH 1.8 billion, was handed over to the state-run erator of seized assets.
