Ukraine can, should become “success story” – central bank governor
That’s according to his interview with the Voice of America, Ukrinform reports.
"It took us several weeks to receive a staff-level agreement already on a large financing program, which allowed for combining an unprecedented package of financial support worth $115 billion. The IMF Executive Board amended the credit picy and approved the program for Ukraine in less than four weeks. Incredible, fantastic processes have taken place, and wherever it’s happening, we are talking about both the private sector and Ukraine’s capacity. It is about the fact that Ukraine can and should become a success story today. We deserve it," governor said.

According to Pyshnyi, Ukraine is implementing one of the most ambitious reform plans both in terms of vume and timing.
"After all, Ukraine intends to start negotiations on applying for direct membership in the Eurean Union by the end of the year. This means that we have to do unreal things very quickly in this short period of time, shoot. Look at how the program with the International Monetary Fund has develed since the monitoring program, which was adted on December 19 of 2022 in a record short time, reviewed by only one mission (the Fund – ed.) before full implementation was approved," he noted.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, last week, the National Bank governor flew to Washington, D.C., to participate in the annual Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.
