Ukraine calls on EU countries to joint trade blockade of Russia – Infrastructure ministry

Ukraine's Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov has called on EU countries to take a number of systemic decisions to block trade with Russia as a terrorist country, Kubrakov conveyed the message via Facebook on Wednesday evening.
The minister called for closing all ports for Russian and related companies, and closing access to the automobile network for Russian and Belarusian carriers.
"We know that at the level of the European Commission and most EU countries there is readiness for these decisions. In particular, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia can block the transit of trucks from Belarus and Russia, but there are a number of countries that are not ready to take such steps," Kubrakov said.
For example, according to Kubrakov, German leaders are worried that Russia supplies food and coal to their country.
In this regard, the minister cited to his German colleague Volker Wissing the example of Ukraine, which, under extremely difficult conditions, managed to successfully rebuild the logistics of coal supplies, in particular, by purchasing it from Latin America, Asia and Africa.
"This is not a critical problem that cannot be solved, especially for Germany, the largest economy in Europe. I feel that there is progress and our arguments are being heard," Kubrakov said.
At the same time, Kubrakov said the anti-Russian coalition is growing stronger thanks to former Soviet states, which are familiar with the Russian civilizational choice.
"Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria understand that Ukraine is protecting not only its own, but also their borders. It is because of the hard work of the leaders of these countries in the international arena that pressure on the occupier in Europe and the world as never before," he said.
