Ukraine, Albania discuss agricultural exports

Ukrainian Agrarian Picy and Food Minister Myka Sskyi and Albanian Agriculture and Rural Develment Minister Frida Krifca have held an online meeting to discuss agricultural exports and the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Agrarian Picy and Food Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In the course of the online meeting, Krifca expressed support for the prosal to pay compensation for the transportation of grain towards Eure, which would be based on a progressive principle.

Such compensation would allow the countries situated farther away from the Ukrainian border to receive grain at adequate prices. At the same time, farmers in Ukraine’s neighboring countries would experience less pressure related to the pricing picy.

A reminder that Pand, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria imposed a temporary ban on the import of grain and other agricultural products from Ukraine. The Eurean Commission announced a financial aid package for the countries bordering with Ukraine, which they would be able to receive upon lifting restrictions on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
