U.S. has provided $15.5B in budget support to Ukraine since invasion – finance ministry

The United States has provided $15.5 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine since Russia's invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.

The Ukrainian Finance Ministry's press service said this in a post on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"The United States is the largest donor of financial assistance for Ukraine. The amount of direct budget support has reached $15.5 billion since the start of the full-scale war," the post reads.

The ministry said that during the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko met with U.S. Treasury Department's Under Secretary for International Affairs Jay Shambaugh.

Both parties discussed the state of Ukraine's economy, coeration with international partners to finance rapid recovery, and the need to increase sanctions pressure on the aggressor country.

"The Government of Ukraine continues to erate fully, ensuring all priority expenditures of the State Budget, in particular, due to the exceptional assistance of our partners from the United States. We are especially grateful for the rhythmic and predictable provision of funds this year, which allows us to ensure timely implementation of the budget," Marchenko said.
