How much did companies in Ukraine trade?

The average daily business revenue continues to increase, writes the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

In February, it reached 15.5 billion hryvnias per day. This is:

  • 1.5 billion more than in February 2025;
  • 0.8 billion hryvnias more than in January 2026.

During the month, businesses generated almost 730 million fiscal checks. On average, this is about 26.1 million checks per day. However, this figure is slightly lower than in January.

Why do you need a fiscal check?

A fiscal receipt is an important document that confirms the fact of a payment transaction and protects the rights of the consumer. Why are sellers obliged to issue it and what the law says about it – 24 Channel explains in detail.

The receipt contains information about the seller, the purchase amount, the date and time of the transaction, and the fiscal number, which allows the tax service to record the payments made.

A check is proof that your money went into the legal economy, not the shadow economy. This is consumer protection,
– the Traffic Police report states.

The law obliges businesses to issue a check in any case , but the buyer can choose in which form to receive it – paper or electronic.

So asking at the checkout usually means clarifying this choice, not being able to refuse the fiscal check altogether.

What do you need to know about taxes for business in Ukraine?

  • The Verkhovna Rada did not adopt draft law No. 14025 on taxation of digital platforms, known as the “OLX tax.” Financial analyst Andriy Shevchyshyn positively assessed the draft law, which provides for the automatic exchange of information on income through online platforms.

  • Individual entrepreneurs receive tax debt notices, which may contain outdated data, which should be checked. An individual entrepreneur is liable for debts with all his property, but the law protects a single dwelling if it is a place of permanent residence and does not exceed social area standards.

  • The IMF has approved a new program for Ukraine, which includes VAT payment for individual entrepreneurs with a turnover of over 4 million hryvnias from 2027. The introduction of VAT for individual entrepreneurs may create an additional burden and increase the costs of entrepreneurs.
